If you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health crisis, we’re here to help. Through Pivot Point, we provide crisis assessment and stabilization services for adults to support, re-center, and plan the next steps towards healing. 

Who We Serve

 

Pivot Point is available to adults (18+) in the Rapid City area who are:

 

  • Having thoughts of suicide or self-harm
  • Struggling with depression, anxiety, or overwhelming stress
  • Experiencing emotional or behavioral distress
  • Needing immediate support to regain stability

What to Expect

 

When you arrive at Pivot Point, you’ll be met with care and respect. Here’s how it works:

 

1. Walk-In or Call
You can come in to our location at 308 Quincy St. in Rapid City or call ahead at (605) 391-4863.

 

2. Triage Screening

A brief medical screening will help us understand your immediate needs.

 

3. Mental Health Assessment
A licensed counselor will assess your situation and listen to your concerns.

 

4. Stabilization Plan
Together, we’ll create a personalized plan to help you feel safe and supported.

 

5. Community Connection
We’ll connect you with resources and services to continue your journey.

Pivot Point provides crisis assessment and stabilization services for adults (18+) who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Services focus on providing a comprehensive mental health assessment and the development of a stabilization plan.

What to Expect:

  • Individuals may present voluntarily.
  • Upon arrival, a triage screening will be completed to rule out the need for immediate medical attention or other necessary services.
  • Individuals screened to meet the assessment during their stay.
  • A mental health assessment will be completed.
  • A counselor will assist with determining services and developing a crisis stabilization plan.
At the time of arrival, or any time thereafter an individual may be transferred to a higher level of care if their psychiatric or medical status warrants such a transfer.
